- M12 Warthog
- Posted by WatchWood on March 29, AD 2007 @ 5:46 PM
- Bungie has released a short report on the M12 LRV, better known as the warthog. It comes packed with technical specifications, observations, usage tips, and a *really* nice screenshot.
Check it out, eh?
- Covies
- Posted by WatchWood on March 23, AD 2007 @ 4:41 PM
- You may recall that a while back I started doodling some comics in class. The art left a lot to be desired (and still does, honestly) But some of us found it to be pretty funny. Especially once I started putting in signs of plot, jokes, and character development.
And so the whole thing evolved a bit, started capitulating, and I wound up putting the bunch of them onto the site.
And so, I give you Covies, the story of a disgraced Major, an embarrassing medic, and who knows who else on their journey to discover the answer to the ultimate question.
Why were the grunts allowed to choose the colour scheme of the Covenant warships?
I'll be honest and admit that I have no idea what's behind this whole thing, either. But it looks interesting, and I'm just as curious as anyone else to discover the horrible truth behind the Covenant's addiction to the colour purple.
- Fan Fiction Contest Results
- Posted by WatchWood on March 20, AD 2007 @ 9:21 PM
- After much delays, the results of the fan fiction contest are finally in. An even dozen entries were received, all of them of solid quality, but the final judge's decision was as follows:
First Place: The Heretic Leader - by zyxomma100
Second Place: Dust and Echoes - by Brownboot
Third Place: HALO - IND Master Chief
You can expect them all to be put up on the site in the coming weeks, but just don't hold your collective breaths. Wordpad's method of converting documents into HTML could be kindly described as "inefficient", and less kinda described using words I really shouldn't use on a family friendly web site.
I'll update the news as they come onto the main site.
- Windows Live
- Posted by WatchWood on March 16, AD 2007 @ 12:57 AM
- Microsoft released the details for Windows LIVE a couple days ago. The service offers all the features you get from Xbox Live, but on the PC. And using the same gamertag and integrated billing system. Paying for a subscription for 1 service gets you full support across 2 platforms, even crossplatform gaming where supported.
The best part is that you don't even have to shell out for the Gold membership if you want to play online. Multiplayer gaming is absolutely free when you're playing just with other PC gamers.
And the news on the gaming front is even better then that. Microsoft has finally released the wireless 360 peripheral reciever for the PC. No more corded controllers, though I'd like to know how they work on differentiating between the PC reciever and your stock 360 when you've got both devices in the same room.
Still, it'll work with *all* of the wireless Xbox 360 peripherals. Personally, I'm kinda eager to see a PC game that'll use this with the 360 Guitar that'll come with the upcoming release of Guitar Hero 2 for it.

- It appears that the town is in serious trouble in Pillar of Autumn Mafia. While they the SK and a Mafia member are dead, they've lost the Vigilante, Doctor, and the Cop, leaving them in dire straights. Can the town pull out a victory? Or will the scum once again walk away with an easy victory. Check out the game thread to watch this drama unfold.
- HWH Mafia Digest - 03.04
- Posted by Shadowflare on March 4, AD 2007 @ 11:30 AM
- Since we usually always have some mafia game going down at The Canteen, I think it would be cool to start reporting on the progress on these games in a periodic update in a mafia digest. The current game in progress is 'Pillar of Autumn Mafia', and already casualities have surfaced on the first night with mixed results. Sir Were, a townie, appears to have been killed by the mafia, where as Javik, a mafia member, appears to have been killed by a serial killer (SK). What decisions will the town make from here? Check the game's progress in the game thread.
